How this is calculated

Every South Australian plan with a daily free-power window is costed over your whole meter history and scaled to a year ( days to 365). Your current plan comes from the Tariff page. Rates include GST; one-off sign-up credits and ZEROHERO's extra credits are left out.

Two ways of running the battery are tried for each plan and the cheaper one is reported. Solar only charges from your solar export whenever it can and discharges against any grid import. Free-window charging fills from the grid during the free window (up to the inverter, the day's remaining cap and any hourly cap) and leaves your solar export alone so it keeps earning feed-in; outside the window, or once the cap is used, it behaves as solar only. The battery never sends power to the grid. Export the battery absorbs is costed at that plan's feed-in rate for that time of day.

Checks run on every load:

Plans with identical windows, rates, supply, cap and feed-in share one line. Tick "Chart" in the table to add or remove a line.
